Very capable black and white wifi printer. . So far so good, works well and easy to connect to via wifi. Only black and white but a lot cheaper to run than colour printer.
Great little printer and copier. Super value and works well, easy to set up and much better than my old inkjet which was always drying up. The only comment i have is that it wrinkles the paper even with higher quality gsm.
Prints fast and cheep compered to over laser printers. Connected over wifi with ease. Scanning and copying functions included. Also comes with sum starter toner. Price to performance is the best iv come across so 5*.
- An end to frustration and wasted ink cartridges.
- I’m sure the printer is great, but network setup is an absolute nightmare
- Excellent monotone laser printer and a step up from troublesome and expensive inkjets
Easy to use, but noisier than expected.
Had this for a year and a half, used only for simple b&w documents but it has never let me down. Which is not what can be said for all the other printers i’ve ever owned. Would buy this again without hesitation.
Works with linux mint / ubuntu but. Works with linux mint / ubuntu but you need to download the linux deb driver installer from the brother website. Unfortunately the installation instructions on the brother site are outdated for linux mint 18 and ubuntu 16. However, the instructions on this site worked fine: (website link blocked by amazon *)it takes around ten minutes to install the scanner and printer drivers, copy/pasting around 8 commands into terminal from the site linked above. The brother printer and scanner now works fine. Only dropped one star due to brother not keeping the linux installation file and documentation up to date, necessitating following the instructions on a third party website. * i had to remove the link as amazon wouldn’t post my review with a link in it. Good luck to anyone else buying this printer, hope you can find the instructions on how to install it.
Initial feedback = ‘great printer’. I wanted a simple printer for home, but found far too much choice. And for every printer the had 100+ ‘5 or 4 star’ reviews, it would also have 10s of ‘1 or 2 star’ reviews as well. What became clear me, and helped me select this printer (and might help you) was the following:1. ‘laser’ is far better quality (used on office printers) and far less susceptible to ‘ink problems’ than ‘ink jet’;2. Many ‘good value printers are a con as they either come with a cartridge that gives you 10 prints, or ties you in to cartridge replacement contracts, or automated replacement. I want be in control and know when my cartridge is. I only want to print letters & forms, and not photos, so colour printing is not important, and helps reduce complexity and ink costs;4. I wanted wireless to use with my mac, but use with mobile devices was not a priority;5.
