Good, cheap, functional printer with cheap and easily available inks and good quality print. . I was looking for a functional black and white printer that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg to buy ink for and i have finally hit the jackpot. I am impressed by the speed, quality of the print and the low cost and ease of buying the ink. I have knocked off 1 star for the noise factor as it is clunky and whirry whilst it is printing, but i have solved that partially by putting under the desk. It is also very big for compared to my last one, and the grey colour of mine is more commercial office style than home office. That said, because the primary purpose for me was to save money as i print so much, and to have good clear print i am very pleased with my purchase. This model is wired so it has to be close to my computer, but that is because i wanted to spend less so again, no big deal.
It works no stress – apple and windows pc. Apple or pc i have both and it works with both.

Perfect so far – easy to install. Perfect so far – easy to install, print quickly, neat size, paper tray holds plenty. Just waiting to see if the number of prints indicated on the cartridge is true or not.
Excellent but read this first. Just ensure you visit the brother website and download and install latest drivers and software for your operating system, especially if you have upgraded or installed win 10. This is very easily done but you must remove any previous drivers installed. (there is a download tool for that but again read the instructions (on screen) and follow them. )for those who complained about the ‘sleep’ time it is easily adjusted to one’s own preference. See user manual or go to website and see how it is done. Quite simply got to the printer preferences, select advanced tab, select other print options and adjust.
