Brother HL-L2365DW A4 Mono Laser Printer : is a fantastic piece of kit took minutes to set up on

Some installation issues with windows 7. The printer itself is fine, especially in its quiet mode, but i did have some problems installing it therefore only 4 stars. Basically the install program kept crashing on my windows 7 64 pc, so in the end i installed it on a windows 10 tablet via usb just to get it on to my wi-fi network, and then used plug and play with windows update to install to the windows 7 pc. All working perfectly over wi-fi now with a desktop, laptop and tablet, though it did take rather longer than i had expected. A little disappointed too that the second paper tray is manual feed only and not full auto feed like the brother laser printer it is replacing, but then it is quite a bit cheaper and includes wi-fi too so i suppose i shouldn’t complain too much.

Mac compatible and liked the fact it works with mobile telephones too. I bought this printer to use for work at home after reading lots of reviews. I need a printer that is wireless, mac compatible and liked the fact it works with mobile telephones too. I chose this model over the hl l2340dw because it offers 30ppm rather than 26ppm. The wireless set up was fairly straight forward. The quick set up sheet was useful in that it pointed me to download the full drivers and software from the brother website (march 2015 version). As with other users, i recommend using the usb cable to set up the wireless connection, following the connection wizards. I downloaded the iprint&scan app to print from my mobile and that worked too. I had the same difficulty as some customers regarding printing once the machine entered deep sleep.

Decent cheap printer but you have to jump through hoops to set it up. Instructions came in spanish and portuguese only. Power cable was european continental type. Even so the installation procedure which comes up when you run the installation disk recommends you use a usb cable initially even when setting up for wifi. I managed to successfully set it up in wifi mode. I had no connection problems, though i should say my printer sits right next to the router. The installation cd prompts you to use internet explorer or firefox and to have java running in order to read the manual. I managed to find the manual eventually on chrome (without java). The printer produces good quality print eventually – but if it is in sleep mode it takes a little while to wake up.

Warms up almost immediately and printed output of excellent quality.

Does what is says on the tin. Does what is says on the tin. A pity brother does not provide a manual in pdf form. ‘on line’ is ok but not as convenient, and the version if installed to pc, does not work.

Reviews from purchasers :

  • to print perhaps 50 sheets or less it worked fine, except for the occasions that it didn’t come

To print perhaps 50 sheets or less it worked fine, except for the occasions that it didn’t come. Purchased this on 20oct2014 and the few times that my wife used it via her ipad to print perhaps 50 sheets or less it worked fine, except for the occasions that it didn’t come out of sleep mode. That was a pita to rectify, nonetheless it printed fine and was responsive. So now at this date 4nov2015 it doesn’t wake up. In fact it doesn’t even power up or reset. Contacted brother support and they just pointed me to their service centre meaning it’s going to cost, despite so little use, and twelve days over it’s guarantee period. For me reliability in any electronic product is paramount. Last time i purchase any brother product. Also amazon were not helpful.

Is a fantastic piece of kit took minutes to set up on. I first purchased i ricoh sw 213 mono printer and got so fed up of it i have thrown in a skip. This, on the other hand, is a fantastic piece of kit took minutes to set up on my wireless network. It took me exactly 15 minutes including unpacking it have working wirelessly on four computers and also on google cloud print. Excellent machine and replacement toners can be found cheap on amazon.

This is the third one of this model i have bought, so i think that says more than anything else. Wifi version is better than wired one.

Included toner lasted for about three weeks / 600 pages so not bad. Recomended to everyone who needs fast easy to. I was looking for a printer to replace my epson ink printer. Installation was smooth and very easy so far it has been working with no issues. I have been using it for printing invoices on integrated paper , works a treat. Also no problems with printing from android or airprint from apple devices. Included toner lasted for about three weeks / 600 pages so not bad. Recomended to everyone who needs fast easy to instal mono printer.

    1. Good solid print quality, let down by high noise levels and poor wi-fi connectivity. . This brother printer is not bad by any means. Print quality is good, as is speed. However, its a bit of a noisy brute and stays on long after a page has been printed. The wi-fi connectivity is little short of awful, being difficult to setup and maintain and the downloadable printer wizard utility being of no assistance. For the price though, hard to go wrong if just a basic monochrome laser printer is required. But, one needs to be aware of replacement toner cartridges, as the tn2210 only contains a fraction of the toner of a tn2220, the latter of which is worth buying due to it lasting a whole lot longer.

Cumbersome setup for wireless printing. Nice compact b&w laser printer. Cumbersome setup for wireless printing. The software wizard is not very intuitive and illogical (and i work in it).

This is the third time i have upgraded my brother printer and they have never disappointed. Each upgrade has been for additional functionality. This time it is to get google print working, without having to have the printer attached to a switched on computer. The instructions could use improvement, but the brother customer support and technical team are unbeatable. In case you are struggling find the instructions to register with google print, here is how:before you start, make sure you are logged into google (gmail or youtube etc). After you have done the connections (power and network, get the ip address allocated to your printer by your router. Either find it on the router config pages, or print out machine info from the lcd display on the printer. The instructions to get the ip address are easy to find. Once you have the ip address, put it in a browser and it will open the printer control panel. Go to the network tab, select protocol. In the protocol page, make sure google print is enabled (tick in the box) then click on register.
