Canon i-Sensys LBP7100CN A4 Colour Laser Printer : Great bit if kit.

Excellent delivery service, printer easy to set up (took about 10 minutes from opening the box to first print). Only printed a couple of test sheets so far but impressed with the quality, much better than inkjet.

Lovely – once i had it set up properly. My first laser printer and it arrived the day after ordering even on standard (free) delivery. Unpacked then hit a few snags finding somewhere to put it. It fits on my printer shelf sideways but as the paper tray is on a narrow end it had to be turned round so the printer sticks out and needed extra support at the front. Improvised with a piece of timber. I was completely unable to set it up via wi-fi. The instructions said to hold in the wi-fi button but i haven’t been able to find one and it’s a heavy beast to keep moving it around looking for things. Update – having checked the manual, this model, the 7100, doesn’t have a wi-fi button. Initially i set it up with a usb cable (not supplied but i had one handy) to check that it all worked ok and i am impressed with the crispness of printing text.

An ideal upgrade from an inkjet to a quite powerful laser printer, i doubt you’ll be disappointed. . Allow me to give you some background to my purchase. My reason for purchasing a laser printer was that i was sick and tired of inkjet nozzles getting blocked which resulted in streaky lines or having to throw away nearly full inkjet cartridges (or in some cases the entire printer), resulting in wasted time and money, and noting that i could buy a inkjet printer cheaper then the price of original cartridges, the situation with inkjets was getting beyond a joke. Yes refilled/remanufactured inkjet cartridges exist and are in many cases quite good, but when you only do a small amount of printing, the result is the same, they dry up if not used on a almost daily basis. Well as i write this review after having the product a while now, i’ve used it numerous times, and have used it both wired direct to my laptop and wired through my network and overall am very pleased with the product. First things first, its heavy. Don’t let its looks deceive you, it is heavy and will need a stable place to reside. Build quality is for the most part exceptional with the only concern being a flap above the paper loading tray. Acoustics is just slightly louder then most inkjets, nothing that would trouble most people, even doing multiple pages its no louder then when it did the first page. Installing the toners was easy, follow the instructions and remove the protective tape and you’ll have them all loaded within a minute and a bit, then pull out the paper tray, load in paper, adjust, push in the paper tray and relax. Printing black on white paper and card is brilliant. I still have a few issues with colour but i am hoping is because the hp professional laser photo paper is not compatible with the printer. If anyone knows of a better product for printing photographs, please let me knowi have printed 220 gsm card without any problem at all.

Hardest part was making sure all packaging was removed. Printing within minutes of receiving, and what great quality it produces. If your looking for a reasonable priced laser printer, i would recommend this every time.
