Dell 1320CN Network Colour Laser Printer – HELP!Where can I find a Mac driver for this one???

Fantastic print quality and cheap running costs. Print quality is far better than i ever imagined. You can print photos onto plain paper and they look extremely good with no paper curling that you get with an inkjet. I’m by no means a heavy user, but my kids are always printing out full page pictures with 100% toner coverage.Despite this the original supplied (half-capacity) toners are still showing between 60-80% full after 5 months of usage. The canon inkjet i was using before needed cartridges replacing every 3 months or so at a cost of about £20 for a set of cheap compatibles. The reviews i’ve seen of compatible toners suggest they are identical in quality, so for a little over 40 quid for a full set of full capacity toners, this represents extremely cheap running costs compared to my inkjet. I’m staggered by what you get for your money with this printer. The only things missing compared to my old printer are proper duplex printing (though the driver lets you do manual double-sided by flipping the paper half way through printing) and cd printing. I’ve kept the inkjet going purely for the cd printing, though i had assumed i would be using it for photos too – not required, the dell laser gives better results.

Worked well first time, lovely quality and quick too. . Very pleased with this, as it was at a bargain price, delivered quickly and installed hastle-free as a wifi printer on my network. Works really well every time, lovely quality of print.

Dell 1320cn great piece of kit. It arrives in a big dell box (or at least mine did) it was well packaged but not ‘overdone’. The printer itself is compact due to its square form factor, but primarily due to the fact it neither faxes nor photocopies, i’ve purchased this machine to replace a now ‘old’ hp laserjet which was an ‘all-in-one’ office design. I’ll let you decide whether the dell has a large footprint or not, it’s 37. 5cm high, 40cm wide and 42cm deep (including rear tray projection). Unpacking and setting up was pretty straightforward, there is both a big easy setup card and video included (on install disk). It wasn’t rocket science (though not intuitive either) but i followed the instructions as the extra minutes to do so where nothing compared to the time lost if i had to ring dell if i did get it wrong. We have a number of laptops and p. S (running a mixture of xp & vista) in our house all accessing the internet via a wireless router and all but the office computer doing that wirelessly.

  • Good printer – but toner is costly
  • Dell 1320cn Network colour laser
  • Dell 1320CN Network Colour Laser Printer

Great value colour laser printer. As previous reviewers have stated, this printer is a bit larger than i expected. However, the print quality is excellent, and set up on my network was a piece of cake. I also had no difficulty in locating the printer via my wireless router and two laptops – great value for money.

A dell 1320c printer purchased from amazon on the 27th january 2009, it’s a little larger than expected but i’ve got used to this now. It’s very quick to warm up and print out, the colour prints are excellant no complaints as yet. The reason for getting a colour laser printer was because ink cartridges these days have very little ink in them and you tend to be changing them every day. It’s a little early to say how long the toner cartridge will last but if the number of sheets per cartridge is quoted correct then it will work out cheaper than ink. At the moment no complaints.

    to make sure this fits.
  • Personal connect with fast USB connection
  • Crisp, fast and reliable colour printing in one quiet space-saving unit
  • Sharp, professional colour or monochrome printed output
  • Maximise cost and time saving with high capacity cartridges
  • Quick setup, easy installation and configuration

Fast delivery – arrived well before the promised date. Easy to set up – no problems connecting to my network. It appears to work reliably (around 2 months old now) and produces good quality prints quickly. I had a couple of problems with the paper feed tray in the first few days, but that seems ok now, perhaps it wasn’t loaded or inserted properly. The cost of replacement toner cartridges from dell is outrageous, much more than the cost of the printer for a full set. I’ve just ordered a set of compatible toner cartridges from amazon, i hope they work, although i shouldn’t need them for quite a while yet.

This printer may be big, it may be heavy, it may be lacking wireless – bit i think it is fantastic – easy to set up (follow the video), fast (even full page colour), superb print quality (on cheap 80 gsm paper), dependable (no problems or paper jams so far) plus the fact that inexpensive remanufactured toner cartridges are readily available. I just wish i had bought one earlier instead of perservering with ink jets. Obviously you need a good inkjet printer for specialist printing and for top quality photo printing but, if you are looking for a reliable machine that produces professional looking prints every time, order one of these – today.

  1. Good printer if on the large side. Nice crisp blacks and colours. Works as a network printer too. The two sided printing is a bit of a faff as you have to put the paper back in after it prints one side so i dont use it. The paper drawer is reasonably in size.

Having had this for over a year it shows off where a cheap colour laser printer falls down. The transfer belt has become sticky and when doing pictures with a lot of black it gives out patchy print outs. On the whole though as a low priced laser printer it’s results are fairly good.

I have been using this printer for just over two years now. Using compatible cartridges the printer is reasonably priced to run, using dell cartridges woud be prohibitive. Depth of colour is not consistant across the page and when colour is intense as in photographs with large dark areas there is a problem with the toner fusing completely to the paper – the better the paper the worse the effect. Using 140 gramme shiny paper is useless, 80g budget paper works best but not ideal for presenting photographs or posters. Hand fed single sheets of paper will never go in straight. Software is good with many useful features such as double sided printing and making banners and posters. Replacing cartridges is very easy and the printer will use toner until it literally runs out not just when it thinks it has. Print quality is excellent for plain text and speed is good. Text is very clear right down to 2 points on a coloured background.

Dell 1320cn network colour laser. I purchased my first dell 1320cn when the previous colour laser (a minolta magicolor 2300) needed new toner cartridges and it proved cheaper to by the dell instead, plus it was network ready, unlike the previous printer. This is now my second model and both have been reliable workhorses in the office. Good colour, reasonably fast printing and the consumables are not too expensive. I don’t think this specific model is still available, but if the updated dell colour lasers are half as good as the 1320cn, i would certainly recommend one. The build quality is good for a cheap printer and the footprint isn’t huge. When the current printer finally bites the dust i will probably find the latest dell model.

      1. The printer that changed my life. Ok, maybe that’s a bit dramatic. But it’s not too far from the truth. I’ve always hated bloomin printers. I always had inkjet printers and it didn’t matter if they were the big, crappy, expensive lexmarks or the more compact, slightly cheaper, mildly better hp’s, they always had the same issues. Stuff wouldn’t print if you were too long between printouts, if it printed at all something was inevitably missing, they would flash at you and generally have you on your knees, gibbering like an idiot. Everyone knew i hated printersbut i needed a printer for my new business so i saved up my pennies and after looking at a few laser printers i settled on the highly rated dell 1320cn. It arrived with cartridges pre-loaded, i went through the easy instructions and within 15 mins my new printer was ready to go. Since then it has printed masses of ebooks, screenshots, documents, well anything i need really and it has never missed a beat.

A printer was delivered very quickly and answering questions: it does duplex printing and there were original toners supplied with the printer.

Stupidly fast, stupidly cheap to run, and also so well designed. Works fantastic with all four non-dell toners costing less than the price of one dell cartridge. Im a student that prints a massive amount of heavy text/image documents and the quality is great and i get around 2000 pages for £30-40 for toner+paper. The footprint is smaller than most inkjets however shes about 40cm high so a little higher than an inkjet however dont be put off she can fit in my tiny room at uni so you should be fine.

The dell 1320c was a replacement for my older canon lbp5200 for home office use. It is smaller, lighter() and much, much quieter. It is swift and the installation was a cinch. Print quality is excellent too. If i’m being a perfectionist, it’s a slight difficulty that the paper exits to the rear of the top, instead of the front. Yes, i know, i must be desperate to come up with something like that. But it’s on top of my filing cabinet.

Easy to set up and worked first time. Network connection is a great feature a this price point. The dell produces vibrant photos with a waxy finish, razor sharp graphics and text. Nice and quiet when working, fairly quick from standby to first page, print speed absolutely ok for home use. A perfect colour printer for occasional users who don’t want to be forking out ludicrous money for ink cartridges which dry up surprisingly quickly. Make sure you’ve got enough space to accommodate the 1320c, as it’s a fairly big lump. However, the black casing makes it less office-like, and the large chassis can consume the entire 250 sheet paper tray without bits of paper sticking out the front of the machine and inevitably getting dusty (which seems to be a compromise for many home printers). Main reason for choosing the dell is the widely available and cheap remanufactured toners.

    1. Dell colour laser printer 1320cn. Very well pacxkaged and delivery to prompt level i have come to expect from amazon. Set-up very easy, the only problem will be for those who have difficulty moving this much weight about. Very pleased with performance. Print quality excellent, photo’s good (obviously not up to ‘photo inkjet’ standard)with very satisfactory detail but slightly cool and a bit of a bias towards green. Perhaps some time spent on tweaking things may improve the situation but i am reporting on what i got out of the box and it all seems to be very satisfactory indeed. Noise modest, print speed quite acceptable (perhaps as an office machine with multiple users there may be some delay if more than one tries to print a long illustrated document at once but be realistic – think of how much longer it would have taken a typist and if there is a wait of a few minutes in extreme situations, is that really cause to overlook such a superb value buy. ) ink consumption not yet known but there are packages of all 4 cartridges on e-bay for under £50 so if they work satisfactorily, this has to be one of the cheapest ever colour lasers. I have docked a star from my score only to draw attention to any hoping for ink-jet colour quality that this and most lasers simply cannot match at the highest standard but for colour presentations and ‘family snaps’, it’s good.

I’ve been using this printer nearly everyday, for printing some webpages, and other thingsi’ve had the printer for about 3-4 weeks, and i’ve printed out over 300 a4 pages in colour, and it still rates the ink cartridges as 100% full. It prints out the pages quickly, and it makes less sound than other printers that i have used. It i did have one problem printing pictures on glossy photo paper, but that was because i wasusing inkjet glossy photo paper. I would recommend this printer to other people.

Dell 1320cn network colour laser printer. I bought this printer to replace countless inkjet printers. Ink cartidges dry out if you don’t use them regurarly. The price of this printer was excellent for a colour laser, replacement toner is readily available and starts from £25 for four reconditioned toners. The printer was delivered very quickly from amazon. Setup couldn’t be easier, i had the printer out of the box and on the network in around 10 minutes. Print quality is superb as you’d expect. As for inket printers, i for one am never buying another one. I’ll save money buying toner instead.

If you only want to print occasionally on paper this machine is ok. It has some good features and i was pleased with it for a few dys. The fuser unit only works when it feels like it and prints can smudge. This is particularly bad with black. Today i printed thre copies of a page of graphics. Two were good and the third useless. This is too unreliable for thwork i am doing and i will have to replace it. I have since found that this problem is well known.

What a fabulous quality machine for so little money. After struggling for months with an inkjet which was always blocked up when colour was needed for school homework we purchased this laser printer. We had had a mono laser previously and it was great, although expensive at the time, so the prospect of a colour laser for such an amazing price appealed. The many universally positive reviews reassured us. Setting up and using the printer has been a joy and performance has been perfect. The bulky unit had to be positioned on the floor under the desk instead of on it but as the paper exits from the top it is within close reach. I have purchased the inexpensive replacement cartridge set from amazon.

      1. Great printer for the price, set up was a bit tricky but follow the instruction video supplied and you can’t go wrong. I havn’t tried photo’s on it yet but well pleased with the finish on both black and colour documents so far. No problem with paper jamming well worth the money.
