A fantastic printer for the price. I have to say, i don’t often write reviews as i never have the time. But i did want to clear some things up and recommend this printer. I’ve been looking at a laser printer for ages and when i seen this one on amazon on monday i thought it looked great. It didn’t fail to disappoint. At only £92, it was very reasonable for a colour printer, and despite other reviews, the toner cartridges are cheap to buy. £50 new or £35 refilled – very reasonableabout 30mins after opening it was set up and ready to go. Couldn’t have asked for more. A cheap printer delivered to northern ireland in 2 days – not the normal 3-5 days as i have grown to expectif you’re thinking about this printer – buy it.
I have had this printer for 9 months, connected to my imac via wifi and it has been excellent. The printing quality is very good and fast enough for me. I have had no problems at all. I have just had to replace the black toner cartridge and after looking at the price of the dell replacements ( £180 for the set of 4 – exorbitant. ) i bought the set of 4 offered on amazon by top cartridge. 4 compatible toner cartridges for printers dell c1660, c1660w, c1660cn, c1660cnw best replacement for 593-11130, 593-11129, 593-11128, 593-11131 so far no problems with compatibility.
Great printer and great value. Decided to invest in a laser printer as my epson printer/scanner/fax was getting so little use that the print head kept drying out and the print quality was hopelessi did a bit of searching and found this, a wireless colour laser printer for about £80. You can’t complain about that really and i must say that i was not disappointed. Delivery from my chosen supplier took a little longer than i would have liked but, once here, set up was easy and printing is a doodle from my macbook or my laptop. Print quality is very good although i don’t do much colour printing so i can’t really say what the colour print quality is like in any detail, but the colour photos and things that i have printed seem fine to me. It may not be the fastest printer on the market, but it’s certainly respectable and it came complete with a set of low capacity cartridges, which i have not had to replace yet (although i’m sure that when i do, i will probably not be so happy about the price of refills – but that’s a given with any printer). For my uses though, so far this has been a great little printer for not a lot of money and i would certainly recommend it. Excellent quality, cheap 3rd party toner, and inexpensive. . Was looking for reasonably priced colour laser printer and after looking at a number of options, this seemed to offer the best in terms of value for money and quality. Obviously won’t output photographic prints anywhere near as good as an inkjet, but lasers not designed for that, for everything else though this is more than adequate.
I have only just got this printer but so far so good. It is fairly easy to install (i am no expect) and i managed to get the wifi working. One little thing that confused me was that the paper tray cover had a notice above it which appeared to be ‘stuck’ in the machine; and since the cover was inserted into position i did not realize what was holding the notice in and was wary of pulling too hard on it. Eventually i discovered that the paper cover simply lifts off and that’s when i saw that some tape was holding the notice in place, and i was able to removed itthe cd rom installs quicker than some, and i didn’t need to switch off to complete installation. However, it didn’t include the manual, but it is worth mentioning that this can be downloaded via the dell. Com website (simply type manuals c1660w and you will quickly find it). On what i have printed so far, the quality is excellent, a million times better than inkjet. (i may be exaggerating a little but you get the drift, i hope). I will update this if i need to say more.
Reviews from purchasers :
- BRILIANT ! I couldn’t find any better product!
- If you’re in the market for a colour laser then this is the one to buy.
- awesome delivery service!!
The big criticism with this printer is the. Bought it for a friend and he really likes it – fast, quiet and prints great. The big criticism with this printer is the cost per print. My personal approach is to use non-oem print cartridges for about 1/4 the cost (or less). Then it becomes a very attractive printer. I have owned a dell 1320c printer for years and have only used dell cartridges once with all the rest being low-cost replacements from amazon. I have been very satisfied with them as well.
I ordered this printer at midday on christmas eve expecting early january delivery. Parcell arrived at 4pm the same day. Congratulations an thanks to dell on an amasing delivery service. The printer its self is compact. Prints full colour pictures and photos very nicely. The colours and detail are good for a toner printer. The printer will take 200gsm card and some 220gsm. The card wili emerge bowed from the heating process. I have been using the printer for 3 mounths and have had a few issues with striping and shadow printing which usually clear up when i change paper settings to coated or run through a few blank pages.
