Dell Color Printer C1760nw – Dell colour laser printer

Dell 1760nw colour laser printer. Wanted a cheap colour laser printer for my nexus 7 tablet, saw reviews which were mixed so as price was within budget took a risk. Now in order to be accurate let me say this- using the supplied usb cable meant installation was simple – plug in to laptop ,install & print. Not so easyto install wirelessl. However if you set up your home network without security and initially use either desktop machine or laptop and persevere then the rewards are worth it. Once set up and working i installed the dell printer app to the nexus 7 version 2 and was able to print within 5 minutes with no problems. As a test tried same app on samsung galaxy iii phone with similar results. Prints are clear and with a better colour then expected and printing pictures from your phone is very satisfying. Takes around 5 minutes total to print so not excessive for freedom you have. Cartridge cost is expensive if buying dell branded but i will probably use compatibles which are much cheaper.

Excellent printer for money – really good quality, quiet and it just works, very well.

Recommended – but not easy set up for me. As others have already said – if you only use a printer occasionally but still do need one then inkjets are a nightmare. Most of the cartridge ink i had was used flushing out the inkjet before use. Cartridges are expensive enough without them being used either to clean jets or otherwise dry up. My son now needs to use a printer at home as the queue at school to use the school printers is now becoming laborious for him now he has his gcses ongoing. A laser printer was the only option as any printer would still not have been used regularly enough to prevent inkjet problems. This printer is really great. I think the print quality is really good and i don’t feel there is any compromise at all. It is nice and neat as far as lasers go and not especially heavy either. – i definitely had problems setting this up. I loaded the dvd to my laptop and then turned on the printer. I pressed wifi button as instructed then printer instructed to press wps on my router. I then tried to connect with ethernet cable and managed this but couldn’t sort a wireless connection.

  • Good print quality, but better and more up-to-date instructions needed.
  • Excellent printer
  • Great printer, with Linux support (from Xerox)

Nice printer but beware warranty. I ordered this printer on 5th march 2014 and it arrived a few days later. I have no problem with the product or the seller, bentham ltd. What i do have a problem with is dell’s warranty policy which is this: dell’s product warranty starts on the day that the product ships from dell to the reseller. In my case this date was 2/4/2013, so the printer had been sitting at the reseller for 11 months before it got sold to me. The net result is that i only have 2 years and 1 month to run on my warranty. Had the warranty been a standard 12 months then i would have only had a month lefti have never heard of such a policy before, and i’m stunned that it’s even legal.

This is the second of these printers i have owned. The previous one conked out after three years or more of regular use. During this time it produced something like two to three thousand pages without any problems. This is far better than any of the ink jet printers i have owned. Double sided prints for multiple copies of a club newsletter – no problems, no misfeeds, no hassle. The print quality is excellent for a laser printer and it fires up in a few seconds and turns out the prints at a good pace. What’s more, it is surprisingly cheap to run if you buy non dell toners which are a fraction of the price of the genuine articles and appear to produce just as good a result.

  1. I don’t like ink jet printers and how you pay a ton for the ink. I knew that laser printers aren’t cheap and can be bulky. This printer is great as it is a compact design, small toners which help for storage and was easy to install and use wirelessly. I use the delldocumenthup to print from my other wireless devices that i would have thought were not compatible.

Fast easy setup, even with ubuntu, quality print. The problems with the wifi setup are mainly due to the fact that the supplied instructions don’t tell you how to connect to yuor network. Once you start scrolling through the menu opptions, however, the network settings are easy to find, and the printer found and connected to my wifi network in a few seconds. The software installed rapidly and it was ready to print in no time. I even got it going with ubuntu 16. 04 using these instructions here:[. ]i bought this printer to replace an epson wf2530, of which i had two, both of which clogged up and stopped working through infrequent use. A laser printer is probably a better option for a virtually paperless office where the printer only sees action a couple of times a month. I initially ordered a brother hl3140cw, but when it was doa i sent it back in disgust. This printer is fast, quiet and the print quality is good.

I had the same printer with scanner. I had the same printer with scanner which kept going into powersave mode and never woke up from sleep mode. This printer has the same quality but none of the bugs.

Not suitable for heavioer paper/card. Usual dell quality and fairly easy to set up ; however, although user guide indicates it will accept paper up to 163 gsm, had problems printing on anything over 120gsm (“paper jam” each time i attempted it). Dell advised me that it was only rated for 105 gsm . Lovely printer as long as you only want to print on ‘;standard’ thickness paper – not good for photos, card.

      1. Decent printer with some hassle. . Expect some hassle and painful calls to sell help centre to get the wireless working.

Works wonders on regular papers, but it curls “specialist” stock such as photo paper or any other coated types that are higher than 60 gsm – which all the better ones always are . I suspect it’s the heat that does that of course. It’s excellent for one-off prints that require high detail, but i’m glad i’ve got an inkjet to take care of less important stuff. The printer is remarkably inexpensive, and low-volume usage should not make it’s low-cost replacement cartridges a frequent requirement. It is not equipped for wireless network connection. Only an ethernet or local usb.

      1. This is excellent printer, 2nd one i have owned and the first one costs less to run than the inkjet it replaced.
