HP LaserJet P2055dn Network Laser Printer – Works well though feels a little flimsy

Absolutely brill product and still going strong.

Works well though feels a little flimsy. I bought this to replace a laserjet 5p which i had been using for a decade, it was still working but no support under windows 7. The new printer doesn’t feel as solid but it has worked extremely well. The print quality is good, it doesn’t jam and it’s compact and quiet. The only thing i don’t really like is the rear exit ‘straight through’ tray for printing card and envelopes – it’s a stupid little flap not big enough to hold even a small envelope, so anything you print ‘straight through’ falls on the floor behind the printer. The fold-down tray 1 where you feed envelopes also feels a little fragile, i handle with care. Despite the small criticisms i am happy with the printer and it is very good value for money.

Hp laserjet p2055dn network printer. After having to replace our last hp laserjet print, after nearly 4 years service. We are all pleased with our new printer in the office. Easy to install and very fast. Lets hope it lasts as long as the last one. Hp laserjet p2055dn network printer.

  • Noisy, but a good performer
  • A great little work horse for a busy office.
  • Laserjet good print but not true duplex on A5

Noisy, but a good performer. I second the reviews that note that this is a bit of a noisy printer (even in ‘quiet mode’); however, there are no other drawbacks that i’ve encountered, so this seems like a fair bargain for a fast, network-capable, duplexing laser printer. Quality of output is excellent and seems quite fast to me — it seems to be coping rather well with my frequent reprints of dissertation chapters as i near completion. When not printing, the printer is largely silent, so the noise would only be an issue if you used this in a confined, soho environment with frequent print jobs. Though, honestly, if you were doing that many prints then you’d probably want to spend a bit more than £200 on a printer. I’ve only configured this for uses with macs so i can’t comment on pc configuration. 5 and lower you need to download the hp drivers and install them yourself (a rather large download, but the installation was seamless). 6 the drivers are already available in the default installation.

First class small office printer to replace my 2200d. However it is a shame that, unlike the 2200d, it does not have a rear tray for straight line printing.

A great little work horse for a busy office. . It’s a wonderful little printer. I already had one and needed to increase my capacity. It is quick, reliable, economic and easy to use.

Bought this second-hand 4 years ago. Still going strong with no problem. Connected as a network printer with 80gsm paper. Printing average 100-150 papers daily. Would buy another if i needed.

    1. Great machine, does a fine job duplex printing, even on heavy paper (120g). The web interface navigation structure could use a bit of a redesign, but as the toner status is available from the home page, it is not really a big deal. Have been using it with os 10.

    1. Laserjet good print but not true duplex on a5. Bought this as a home office printer. Easy to set up although i had to reinstall the drivers after i installed an epson colour printer which caused the hp to issue errors and stop printing. Once i had reinstalled the hp drivers everything was fine. Print quality and speed is excellent. Duplex with a4 is very good but for a5 you have to lift the first side of print off the top and manually feed back into the printer which was a little disappointing. On the whole very good printer for price, compact and easy to use.

I have great confidence in hp printers. This replaced a network printer that we think/calculate was 17 years oldby comparison we are astonished at this ‘new’ printer. Even without our ancient comparison it deserves rating – quiet, quick, high quality print. Every time a page whizzes out we’re thinking wow.

    1. So far, i just use it connected via usb to my mac computer, and i find it works excellently well. It’s a good deal for automatic duplex printing. The dialogue boxes produced by word didn’t include the duplex option, but a couple of clicks through ‘printer’ tab gets me there. I think it’s the same with adobe. The mac pages software includes the duplex option in the first place, so i have started using that more, but it’s all really easy once you get used to it.

Noisy but good quality print. The printer seems to be of good build but is very noisy in a small three person office. It seems a little random in some of its activities ie stops and starts up again several times through printing larger quantities. The print quality is good and printing is quick. I have only been using the printer for a month so i cant comment on the ink capacity.

    1. This is a reasonable printer and quite easy to install. It does keep reporting paper jams for no reason which is quite frustrating. When it gets going it is fast.
