HP LaserJet Pro CP1525N Colour Printer : Great home or home office printer

Ignore the ‘low supply’ warnings. . Good little printer which works well in a small / home office environment. Occasionally bursts into life and chugs away cleaning something or other. . Original hp toner ludicrously expensive, but you can ignore the printer’s increasingly panicked messages about low supplies. I’ve been ‘out of toner’ for weeks now, but it still keeps printing fine.

It is unbelievable that hp should supply two power cables but no usb cable with this product and that amazon fail to let buyers know this so that they can order one with the printerhaving said that, the printer is delightfully easy to set up (once you’ve gone back and bought a usb cable to connect it to your computer) for a non-techie and the quality of print is first class. If amazon read their product reviews they would note that i am far from the only buyer to be baffled by the lack of a vital cable.

I have been struggling along with an hp deskjet printer for months but it just wasn’t up to the numbers and types of copies i wanted. This laserjet printer has changed my life. No more problems with printing stopping half way through a page and multiple runs are trouble free. The quality of the printouts are also excellent. The printer was very easy to set up. All round, highly recommended.

Great feature set for the price. . Hard to fault a printer with such a great spec at this price point. £140 odd quid, but with a £45 cash back from hp puts it under £100 (offer expired end of april, i’m afraid). Astonishing for a colour laser with this feature set. Airprint works great from our iphones and ipad and the printer integrates seamslessly with the mac and pc laptops in the household. Not the fastest printer in the world, but absolutely fine for the domestic use that its been bought for. It also supports duplex printing but be aware that its manual, not automatic. Removed all the packaging and toner strips, plugged it into my router, loaded the software on my computer, the computer found it instantly and away we went.

I do a fair amount of black and white printing with only occasional colour but when i do colour it has to be good quality. This printer meets my needs very well, the quality is superb and as i have this printer connected to my router via an ethernet cable there was no need for a ‘wireless’ printer. As with most printers, the consumables are expensive, so if you do a lot of colour you might find this printer expensive to run. The price was good too, i consider it to be excellent value. It was easy to set up and get started. Something that might not be clear from the description – the printer does do double-sided (duplex) printing but it’s manual so you have to turn the paper over by hand (this works ok, i’ve had no problems with it).

Reviews from purchasers :

  • HP LaserJet CP1525nw Color
  • Excellent printer and good value
  • So far, so good! Great feature set for the price.

Easy network setup providing reliable printing from multiple computers. Recommend this printer for small business or home printing. Laser printers do not suffer from dried print heads when not used for a few days or a week.

I’m in the process of replacing my hp cp1525n (with a brother hl4140cn) after just over three years. The cp1525n now jams constantly. Pros:* good quality printing, including photos* fairly fastcons:* spends a great deal of its time calibrating and initializing itself* noisy when operating.

  1. Great home or home office printer. Yes it has smaller toner cartridges in the box, but if you want a good quality home printer or have a small business this is great. I used it for running out new business documents, airline tickets and google maps.

    1. Great little printer with good print quality. Great little printer with good print quality. Only grip is that i struggle to get the allotted pages out of the cartridges. Been using for about 12 months now and had no issues. Easily connects to your network and the e print functions allow quick printing from your tablet/phone.

Excellent and durable but needs good toner. Excellent and durable, but kind of wished now i had held out for the wifi version. Needs true hp toner cartridges to go with it – generic cartridges soon gave problems.

Still going strong after 18 months. My only complaint would be amount of ink in the starter cartridges, but still printing well after almost two years and has been great value for money.

    1. Extremeley happy with this laser printer. Was a little worried about setting this up, as previous people had had problems, but loaded the dvd into my windows 7 pc and followed the instructions and it was done, then loaded the dvd on my mac, and same thing, no problems whatsoever. Not only that but the print quality is exceptionally good, a fantastic printer, just wish i had invested in one ages ago.

Using it from my mac was a little tricky but got there in the end.
      1. Quality printouts, easy to use and good value for home usage. I bought one of these a few months ago and have found it produces very satisfactory print-outs and is easy to use. Because of its low initial price i think it’s great value for low-volume home usage. The printer connects very easily onto a wired network. The printer includes its own web interface, so you can remotely browse its status and configure its parameters. There is no need to install from the supplied cd – it is easier and quicker just to download the driver from the hp website (this avoids installing additional tools you will probably never use). I am very happy with the print quality and print speed for ordinary at-home stuff like my child’s homework, maps, memos for work etc. When i want to print important photos i use an internet professional photo-printing service. The printer is supplied with entry-level cartridges which have smaller capacity than the regular cartridges, so you have to buy new cartridges before long. It’s good to check the price of both hp and compatible cartridges in advance so you know what you are committed to.

This printer hp laserjet cp1525nw (same printing ability as the “n” version, but the “nw” version is also wireless connectivity) works a treat in lion on my mac mini (2011). Bought this as to replace my mono a3 hp laser that mac osx 10. 7 refuse to see or play with. Found the supplied cd took ages to mount so don’t bother with that if you have a mac. You also get 2 power supply cables (both a three pin and two pin versions) and a usb cable. The toner carts (half full versions) are inside the laser printer. If you have the cp1525nw version, just one tip make sure you download the latest firmware update (from hp website) for it, and install it or it will drop connection if used wirelessly to your router when the printer goes to sleep (you will then have to turn it off and on again, and also reselect it in the system prefs), this problem doesn’t effect the cp1525n as it isn’t wireless. The latest firmware also sorts out eprint compatibility.
