Seven hours of trying everything and i cannot get this. Finally got it working and it is great.
Cheap as chips duplex colour laser printer. . Inexpensive, duplex colour leaser printer, with a 2 year european warranty, wired and wireless networking (and usb), 250 sheet feeder, and even an envelope feeder, what’s not to like?. It’s a pretty good allrounder. So why only 3 stars?well, if this is what you want from a printer, then it’s a fine choice, but things have moved on. There is no google cloud print, for sending documents to your printer when not in the office (my similarly priced samsung does this), there no one tap nfc print, it’s quite big, heavy and noisy, the wifi only does 2. 4ghz, it has the feel of a printer that was a long time in development and missed the boat, and had a price-cut to stay relevant. So that’s the negatives out the way, there are some positives, print quality is very good, and it has a very solid feel to it. Setup was painless, even setting the wifi via the front panel, whilst a little tedious, worked first time, and i was up and running very quickly. I would say this is a reasonable choice for a small home office printer, and it’s amazing that they included duplex at this pricepoint, but otherwise, your feature expectations should be keep realistic. Also it’s worth investigation the price of toner, i did see you can get compatible toners to keep the cost down, but fitting genuine could be an expensive hobby.
Very easy to setup on wifi and windows 10 if you. This printer is heavy and solid which i personally think of it as an advantage, very easy to setup on wifi and windows 10 if you know what you are doing, print quality is what you would expect from a laser printer, cheap to run if you have the knowledge of refilling your original toners. I’m very satisfied after all.
- Good Value, high quality printer
- Faultless for the price
- simply great and well worth the money
As others have said this is a big and heavy printer but then it is laser and full colour. It won’t win any awards for photo quality and detail but as a home or small business office printer the quality is spot on for general documentation, presentations and homework. Connected it to my home network via wi-fi in minutes and had successfully printed a test page from my windows laptop using generic drivers a few minutes later. Without a cd/dvd drive in any of my devices the proper drivers had to be downloaded from the internet but once found and installed i had full printer functions across all of devices – laptops, phones and tablets. At £90 for a colour laser duplex printer it represents excellent value. With the ricoh cashback offer (at the time of writing) this makes it £55 overall.
Setup is not quite as easy as implied, but once working the machine is excellent.
Good value, high quality printer. Print quality is first class even photographs are acceptable for every day use as long as you use good quality paper, though there is a limit on paper thickness of 160 g/m2 which rules out using some of the highest quality laser photo papers. For an office or if you print a lot of documents, running costs are a little on the high side but for casual use the supplied toner cartridges should last a fair while. On balance, i used to spend a fortune on ink-jet cartidges which often dry out before i get a chance to use them to their full capacity, something you never need to worry about with a laser. You also have the ability to switch off colour for monochrome test documents. Beware, this is a fairly bulky and heavy printer which requires a fair bit of space although as you can connect with wifi (very easy to set up) it doesn’t need to be close to your pc.
Not a small device at all and missing some of the later touches like apple print and google print but as this was. Initially a pita to setup, it took over an hour of fiddling to get the wifi to work correctly but once connected it’s proven to be a decent printer. Not a small device at all and missing some of the later touches like apple print and google print but as this was purchased for my mother (who somehow always manages to break the wifi settings on her previous printers) this has proven to be a decent replacement.
