Samsung M2022 A4 Printer Xpress Mono Laser Printer : Best printer I’ve ever owned – a joy to use

Recommended for general home occasional printing. Cheaper laser jets unfortunately do not have the toner capacity of the more expensive and larger models, but this comes highly recommended for people who do not use their printer often and only usually print out black and white documents. Having a laser printer means you do not have to worry about ink drying out over time. Solidly built & small enough to tuck away. Is quite loud in operation but no more so than most other laser printers in this price range.

Excellent printer for the money. Printer was up and running within 10 minutes. Very easy install, enclosed cd installed and updated all the required drivers very quickly with no fuss. Printed off the test page and some documents, print was excellent and fast. Glad i have changed to a laser printer as i only print occasionally and my previous inkjet needed cleaned frequently wasting a lot of ink and time. Looking forward to fast trouble free printing in the future. Would highly recommend this printer as it also has a very small desk footprint. As others have said, the instructions on removing the internal packaging could be clearer – yes, you do pull out the orange bit. Setup on windows xp was pleasantly straightforward, and i was printing a trial page within minutes. It is what i need for typescript – i would not use it for a cv. Later, however, i tried to set it up with debian 8. I followed the routine i found online, but the printer was still invisible. Ubuntu offered a generic drive, but similarly nothing. Discussion online identified the problem in the support from samsung – apparently brother and hp are better.

Inexplicably doesn’t come with a usb cable. Generally quite a solid printer, but the only way to connect it to your machine is via a usb cable, and the manufacturer failed to include one, which is a pretty glaring omission, and a problem i’ve never had with any other printer. The installation cd also makes it seem as though you can connect to your printer wirelessly, which is not, in fact, the case. For both these reasons, i’d advise buying the wireless enabled model. For an extra ten pounds you get a plethora of wireless and mobile print options, including nfc and google cloud print. Given that you’ll need to spend a few pounds on a usb cable just to get this model working, it hardly costs any more for the upgrade. Wishing i’d read the fine print, and spent the extra tenner now.

      1. Works well when connected to my pc via the usb cable. Does not work well when using the wifi. Nearly ever time i switch on either my pc or my wifes pc and try to use the printer both computers keep telling me that the ip address has changed etc. And i have to spend a lot of time messing with the software to get either computer to ‘find the printer again’ one of the main reasons i bought this printer was that i wanted to be able to use it from either computer without unplugging the usb from one pc and pluging the printer into the other pc. I also wanted to have the printer distanced from either pc etc.

    I’m very happy with this printer. I’m very happy with this printer. Although it prints only in b&w, that’s all i need anyway, and it prints very fast.

    Excellent,excellent,excellent. Best printer i have ever had.
    1. Generally very good and reliable. Ink cartridge not very big. . A great printer for doing regular black and white print outs. The ink is on the small side though and runs out more frequently than previous smaller printers i’ve used in the past. It’s also quite a big and heavy printer for a home office.

    Can’t fault this little printer. Can’t really fault this little printer. Granted the colour isn’t quite as black as i’d like, and the pages come out curled, but for £40 it’s brilliant. If i was buying again, i’d spend a little extra and get the wireless version.

    Cannot ask for more from a printer at this price. Prints really quickly and the toner lasts a very long time. I am still using the toner that came with the printer and i bought this over 6 months ago.
