Samsung Xpress C1810W Colour Laser Printer : SUPERB LASER PRINTER!

Once i got the paper correct it was fine, my old stock paper had too much moisture. Once i got the paper correct it was fine, my old stock paper had too much moisture making the paper distort badly after printing first side so unable to print the other side without jamming the machine.

Do the maths and it is clear where the cost savings were made. . Printer is excellent, easy to connect and high functionality. Just a couple of gripes: firstly the toner is £60 with savings each, so thats £250 a set. It doesn’t last very long even in eco mode, so one needs to factor this into account. Secondly, and more worrying is that the warranty is just for 1 year and samsung provide no extended warranty products to extend this. So, if your machine breaks down, a service could cost you as much, if not more than you paid. I am happy enough but only until it breaks down or needs a service.

Early days but excellent so far. If you have problems setting up the wireless function don’t use the ‘obvious’ installation window that comes up as it repeatedly refused point blank to connect to my laptop. However using the ethernet cable with the alternative wireless () link worked like a charm. Here are the specifications for the Samsung Xpress C1810W Colour Laser Printer:

  • Enter your model number
    to make sure this fits.
  • Tap and print with NFC (Near Field Communication) printing
  • ReCP (Rendering Engine for Clean Pages) technology for sharper, crisper prints
  • USB 2.0, Ethernet 10/100 Base TX and WLAN 802.11b/g/n connectivity

Excellent printer to replace ink jet.

Gives good solid printing reprductions.

Reviews from purchasers :

  • A lot of good printer for not a lot of money
  • Very good compact fairly fast printer with good printing capability and
  • still delighted with it after over a year and a half.

A lot of good printer for not a lot of money. When my old colour laser packed up, i spent some time looking for a replacement. I hummed and erred about this for sometime and eventually picked the samsung based on on-line reviews. I’ve had it for only a few days but thus far i’m very impressed. It prints quickly and quietly and the print quality is very good. Even photos print with amazingly quality – perhaps not quite up to the best glossy inkjet standards, but pretty good. Installation was quick and easy. I connected the printer to my home network, loaded the cd and everything auto-ran very smoothly. The only thing i’ve had a problem with is getting the cloud print app to work with my phone. It doesn’t seem to text me the authorisation code, but i’ll keep trying and i’m confident that i can sort it out.

  1. Impressive at such a low price, pity it does not do automatic duplex printing.

    1. Still delighted with it after over a year and a half. . I bought this in october 2015. Since then, i have changed the black toner once (september 2016) and have only just changed the coloured toners (april 21 2017) for the first time, as the original coloured toner cartridges that came with the machine have only just run out. I have two children attending university while living at home and constantly printing essays, etc and i use it myself for various home-related print tasks. While it is not used daily, it does get used frequently and often for long-ish projects (those essays and class projects). It prints crisply and quickly and pairs well with my chromeboxes, laptop, smartphone etc by wi-fi; it also connects easily with a cable if you don’t have wi-fi, though i haven’t had to resort to this myself – my son does so, however, and is quite pleased with it. It has a special bluetooth pair-with-samsung-phone function which i wish i could avail of, where apparently you just tap the printer with the phone or device, but as my phone is not a samsung i have to live with that lack of functionality; however, i can see where it would be a great feature. It is very economical with toner, and while the toner is very expensive, it does seem to last for ages, and if you are cost- and carbon-conscious, you can probably take the cartridges to a refill place or refill them yourself for less. I should add that the cartridges are incredibly easy to replace – simply lift the old one out and set the new one in, wait a minute for it to recalibrate and off you go. After more than a year and a half of use, my conclusion is that this is the best printer that i have ever owned (having had epson and hp printers in the past, and while they were ok-ish at the time, i seemed to be constantly replacing print cartridges and having to cope with poor print quality and slow print speeds), for general ease of use, economy and quality and speed of print.

Great printer for the price. Great printer for the price, and decent prices for the cartridges too, never going to be as economical per printed sheet as the larger laser printers, bt i think this is a decent compromise of price and features here (though the lack of auto-duplex printing might be a real turn off for some). Setup was pretty straight forward if you follow the instructions closely, i have set it up on my macbook air and then subsequently on my iphone. The software is ok, it is not the most intuitive menu system (typical samsung) though if you read through the useful help files, you can find most things. I do like that you can feed up to 180 gsm paper on this no problem, so we are using this to print cards and invitations.

Samsung reliability at a fraction of the cost. . What else can i say, a fantastic printer. Great output quality and at an unbeatable price. I’m always dubious about buying warehouse stock. But these printers were new, with only a few scuffs on the box.

Great quality, stunning print quality even on basic paper. Very disappointed that i am not able to print duplex. Also not able to print off the instructions without the use of a computer.

    1. Thus one was easy to set up and prints. Gave away a brother which reviewed well but just kept on printing badly and jamming. Their tech support were well, unsupportive. Thus one was easy to set up and prints.

  11. A good printer, if you have the space. . The c1810w was purchased to replace an ageing samsung clp-300 which had started to become temperamental. I chose the c1810w over the many other comparable printers in this price bracket based on the track record of other samsung laser printers i have owned and the relative cost of replacement toners. Like most printers the initial toner cartridges come half-full, and a complete new set costs more than the printer – but sadly this seems to be the case across the board these days. However, the samsung toners have a good reputation for being able to refill, and the non-branded toners are better priced than other manufacturers. In comparison to the clp-300 the c1810w is much faster at both first page printing and subsequent pages. This is especially true with colour where it prints on a single pass. It also has much better connectivity including fixed lan (upto 1gbps it seems) and wifi. It also supports wifi direct and nfc from phones, although this last point seems a bit gimmicky as the samsung app on my phone chooses to print using wifi direct and i don’t need to carry the phone to the printer. It also supports apple airprint, so my ipad prints without any problems.
